Thanks Carol. Not sure what you mean by “reality” here… but I get a sense of what you mean: that the narrator is living in a fantasy world, that he is a blend of perceptive and absolutely insensitive and therefore “unreal”.

I love this poem, Brian. It’s so very powerful…and sad because it’s so real and yet so far from reality.
